Without the cartridge, regular aqueous ozone only provides 15 minutes of sanitisation. However, having passed through the SAO-4 cartridge, SAO stays active to allow up to four hours of sanitising time and three days of cleaning time before it returns to its original water state. With the SAO-24 cartridge, users can enjoy up to 24 hours sanitisation, and as many as six days cleaning.
