Zoono: The Revolutionary Antimicrobial Protection Proven to Last up to 30 Days on Surfaces

Water-based, non-toxic and alcohol-free, Zoono is a revolutionary antimicrobial protection technology that is proven to protect surfaces and skin from re-infection. For surfaces and fabrics, protection lasts for up to 30 days. Skin is protected for up to 24 hours.

How does Zoono work?

Apply Zoono as a mist, foam or wipe and once dry, its monomolecular layer binds permanently to the surface. The Zoono molecule resembles an antimicrobial spike. This spike pierces any microorganisms that may be present, popping them like balloons, rupturing their cell walls and destroying them.

The protective layer created by Zoono continues killing microorganisms for up to 30 days on surfaces and fabrics, and for up to 24 hours on skin, working mechanically rather than chemically.

On surfaces and fabric, Zoono keeps on killing germs for up to 30 days, even following routine cleaning or after 30 washes. On the skin, Zoono carries on killing germs for up to 24 hours, even after washing. This is because the molecule binds to the surface and is very difficult to remove with traditional cleaning methods.

The good thing here is that cleaning remains necessary in order to maintain aesthetic appearance, but instead of the clean-sanitise-clean-sanitise cycle, Zoono makes it possible to simply apply once every 30 days, then clean as much as you like in between.

How does Zoono compare to regular disinfectant products?

The key difference between Zoono and other antimicrobial or disinfectant products is that it works physically rather than chemically, piercing and destroying pathogens rather than by chemical infiltration or dehydration. This makes it safer for use on skin, and better for the environment. It’s food safe too, so can be used in food production or hospitality environments.

Another major differentiator for Zoono is that it is proven to remain effective for up to 30 days on surfaces and fabrics, and up to 24 hours on skin, whereas traditional products only work for the short term, which means they need to be continually re-applied.

Safety is another area where Zoono comes out on top. Compared to other products which are usually highly toxic, Zoono ranks around the same as vitamin C. It’s also ready to use with no mixing required, unlike other products, and when it comes to proof of effectiveness, there are more than 150 tests to demonstrate its ability to destroy pathogens. Most traditional antimicrobial products tend not to have this level of proof available.

What pathogens is Zoono effective against?

Zoono antibacterial products are tested in independent, accredited laboratories and have been proven to kill or deactivate more than 100 common pathogens. These include:

  • Coronavirus
  • E-Coli group of bacteria
  • H1N1 virus
  • MERS
  • MRSA
  • Norovirus
  • Salmonella

Why Zoono?

Depending on location and activity, levels of microorganisms can return to previous levels in as little as one to two hours after cleaning. But Zoono keeps on destroying microorganisms, remaining effective against recontamination.

Zoono has been trialled successfully on the London Underground, where 100 per cent clean surfaces were found even after 25 days of live service. The product has also been trialled in healthcare, childcare and hospital environments, with positive results.

In food manufacturing environments, Zoono reduces risk by controlling bacteria and preventing mould. Shelf-life is increased and customer complaints are reduced as a result.

What’s in Zoono?

One of the greatest selling points of Zoono is that it is toxin and alcohol-free. It is made from a simple mixture of purified, deionised water, together with an antimicrobial compound known as Quaternary Ammonium Compound.

But it’s not really the ingredients so much as the continuous pathogen-eliminating technology that makes Zoono as effective as it is.
